Commencement Support Letter for Family Travel

This letter is used to assist family members traveling internationally to AIC for commencement. This is not a student's official commencement letter issued by the Registrar. To request an official commencement letter, students can login to their MyAIC portal (Office of the Registrar page).

Reduced Course Load

Three circumstances exist in which and F-1 student may request a reduced course load. These include your final quarter of study, a medical condition, and academic difficulties.

Program Extension

This request provides the Office of International Student Life with the required information needed to grant a Program Extension to F-1 visa students.

Status Requests

Add Dependent

This request is to provide information for any dependents (spouse or children under 18 years old) you wish to bring to the United States with you.

Semester Update

This form is used to collect information from F-1 visa students each semester about progress toward degree completion and compliance with SEVP regulations.

Leave of Absence

If an F-1 student must take a temporary leave from the College due to unforeseen circumstances, the student's international advisor, or DSO, must be notified.

Travel Notification
(Departing the US)

This form should be completed by all F-1 visa students who are leaving the United States. It is a requirement that the Office of International Student Life be notified prior to all travel at least one week before departure.

Travel Notification
(Returning to the US)

This form should be completed by all F-1 visa students who have left the United States and are planning to return. It is a requirement that the Office of International Student Life be notified prior to all travel at least one week before departure.

Employment

On-Campus Employment

F-1 visa students have the opportunity to engage in on-campus employment. To accept employment, a Social Security number must be obtained to track earnings.

Curricular Practical Training

CPT is an opportunity for F-1 students to gain off-campus work authorization in the form of an internship, practicum, clinical, and/or other similar experience either required by the student’s major or for course credit.

Optional Practical Training

This request provides the Office of International Student Life with the required information needed to grant OPT to F-1 visa students.

OPT Employment Update

This request provides updated information when you are changing your OPT employer, adding an additional employer or reporting unemployment.
